Da Guide to a Troll Shaman

Welcome to Bohica's troll shaman guide. The path you choose is a most interesting and inherently difficult one. It has, however, been
travelled before. Learn from Bohica. Strengthen yourself for the battle        ahead. The hordes of light come. Like the waves of the sea they will
throw themselves against us. Prepare, young one. Together we will feast upon their fallen. So Cazic Thule has said. So shall it be.

This guide is a work in progress. I will be updating it throughout
the beta and on into the EverQuest final. For you experienced shaman,
feel free to e-mail ([email protected]) me info that I need to correct or that I have not yet obtained.

CREATION

ATTRIBUTE
STRENGTH

Strength determines the weight you can carry before becoming encumbered.
The higher your strength, the larger the weapon you can wield in come without losing your stamina.  Strength has a direct impact on your attack value.
Increase your strength, and you increase your ability to force that
blow through your enemy's defences.

STAMINA

Stamina impacts directly on the number of your initial hit points and the number of hit points you will gain upon reaching each new level.
A high stamina allows you to continue a tiring activity for a longer period of time. You can run farther without a break. You will be able to
swing that overweight lead staff of thumping more
times without becoming exhausted.

 AGILITY

Agility influences armor class. An agile troll will lead a longer life than a slog-footed one.

DEXTERITY

Dexterity is said to influence your chance of striking an opponent in melee combat.  Dexterity should increase your chances with ranged weapon
attacks as well.

WISDOM

Wisdom determines the shaman's mana and shaman spell success.
Wisdom increase a character's ability to save versus spells that impact the mind.  Wisdom cannot be raised with any shaman spells. All the
physical attributes and even charisma can be raised this way. Because of
this, I recommend the starting shaman place as
many bonus attribute points into wisdom as is allowed.

INTELLIGENCE

A high intellingence allows a troll to learn skills at a faster rate this his less-gifted peers.

 CHARISMA
Charisma effects how NPC's react to your character.
A higher charisma will lower prices at merchants.
Everyone hates a troll anyway, so why worry about it?

    SKILL POINT USAGE

     STARTING OUT

Purchase one point in hand-to-hand. This will double the damage you can do with a punch.  You may have to resort to hand-to-hand combat should
you die without an extra weapon in the bank and no money to
purchase another.  Save all other points at this time.
Remember to set up a hot key for sense heading and practice this skill while adventuring.

 EARLY LIFE

Channel: Spend a point on this at 4th level. It will raise itself automatically after this initial purchase.

Weapon Skills: Choose a single weapon skill for your character early in life. The two basic choices for shaman will be one hand blunt or two
hand blunt. Try to stick with this choice exclusively. At fifth level,
I would spend the points necessary to increase your first choice to
at least (20). This should not take many points as combat alone should have increased the skill prior to this. Fifth level is an important one in that
you will now lose experience upon death.

Tailoring: At 5th level, after purchasing the above weapon skill points,
try to spend 15 points on tailoring. A party of 5th level trolls can now
kill brown bears. The tailoring skill will allow you to create patchwork
armor from the bear hides. This makes passable armor until you can
afford better. After you are outfitted with full patchwork, you can sell the excess for a hefty profit to your fellow trolls.

Meditate: Purchase a single point of this at level 8. This will increase
quickly on its own after  the initial purchase.

 MID AND UPPER LEVELS

I'll let you know about it when I get there.

DIETY CHOICE

CAZIC-THULE: Followers of Cazic-Thule, The Faceless, fear their Lord
and believe that only by causing terror in others will they be spared his
vengeful wrath. They strive to beat down and suppress all hope. Fear
rules their lives and through fear they rule the lives of others. Pain,
misery, violence, torture, living sacrifice; these are the tools of a Cazicite.
Many Lizardman tribes are devout followers of Cazic-Thule,
but his number of humanoid followers grows daily, a cold shadow slowly
engulfing the bright spots of Norrath in a nightmare of horror and pain.

Trolls and Ogres can both be followers of this Diety.
The Lost Temple of Cazic-Thule right next door in Feerrott provides instant quest / role-play opportunities for his followers.

INNORUUK: Followers of Innoruuk, The Prince of Hate, include nearly the entire Dark Elven race who regard him as their "Father." They believe
that Hate is a creative force, or rather "THE" creative force
in the universe. Creativity born of destruction. Love and kindness are tools for those too ignorant to know what they want or too cowardly
to do what is necessary to obtain it. It is only through the total
disdain of your enemies that you can gain true power over them. Pity and mercy have no power when confronted with contempt and viciousness.
It is the honest belief of the followers of Innoruuk that if
they were to hate strong enough they could destroy all of Norrath.

Trolls and Dark Elves can both worship Innoruuk.
If you are a troll and plan on spending a lot of time in the dark elf city, Innoruuk would be an optimal choice of diety. The native dark elves
will be more lenient and loose of purse with fellow worshipers.
